Description

Enteral feeding refers to the delivery of a nutritionally complete feed, containing protein, carbohydrate, fat, water, minerals and vitamins, can directly into the stomach, duodenum or jejunum.

Enteral nutrition is the nutritional support provided by the gastrointestinal tract to provide nutrients needed for metabolism and other nutrients. It depends on the length of time, mental state and gastrointestinal function. There are three ways for enteral access :

Nasogastic feeding
Gastrostomy
Jejunostomy
